The first is the recent opening of the EL Catey International Airport located approximately 20 miles from the property and currently servicing 70 international flights per week; the second is the recently expanded Arroyo Barril Cruise Terminal located seven miles from the property which brings in three million tourists per year. The third substantial infrastructure investment is the completion of the Santo Domingo-Samana highway in April 2008. The new highway directly links the capital and main international airport for the Dominican Republic with Samana by a much shorter one hour drive as apposed to the previous six hour drive. |
